Burning Bush earns it's name

Just a few weeks ago, this was a lovely shade of green, a haven for our chickadees to break their sunflower seeds on it's stiff branches, but now, look, a more beautiful color does not exist. We unfortunately had to remove about 1/3 of this bush to do some entry changes to the front of our home, but we were able to save it from removal. Last winter the rabbits decided that it tasted good, so the bottom 1/3 was eaten by them- as the level of snow rose, so did their feeding station. This year we are planning on wrapping the bush in burlap, not that we don't love our little guys, but geez, we live across the street from our woods, go help yourselves there!
